Volney Elementary School sixth graders are soaring to new academic heights, thanks to guest speaker David Hamm. The former educator spoke to the sixth grade students about scientific properties behind their upcoming rocket launches.
It’s fall, that magical time when everything is gloriously beautiful, the air is cool, we can soon stop worrying about heart worm and maybe even fleas and ticks, there’s not much mud, it hasn’t snowed yet, in short a perfect time of year for pets and their people. The Children’s Room at the Oswego Public library offers free story hour, crafts, and snacks for children. Story hours take place on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and Fridays at 10:30 a.m.

The Ailey II dance company returns to SUNY Oswego’s Waterman Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, to cap off a week of special events for rejuvenated Tyler Hall with an evening of works linking the past and future. The popular ensemble’s appearance marks this fall’s reopening of Tyler and the college’s principal performance venue after major renovations and modernization.

Inspirational gospel singer Sherry Anne will sing and share the story of her journey as a child with a bilateral hearing and speech impairment to a national recording artist with an elegant voice at West Amboy Community Church, Williamstown, as part of the 9 a.m. service on October 30.
“Doing it Our Way” fall soccer clinic, part of a Parents of Special Children program and run by group of Oswego student athletes, recently wrapped up another season of soccer fun for all who participated. The four-week series of clinics and games was attended by nearly 30 children of all ages and abilities who participated in weekly “fun” games of soccer with everyone scoring big on the field.
