Buddy and Porky Pet Health – You Can Help The Dogs

In September, last year, the ASPCA filed a petition with the USDA asking that agency to strengthen its regulations concerning animal breeding facilities, what we all know of as “puppy mills.” While no one wants the practice of puppy milling to continue, in the meantime there are hundreds of them around the country, including right here in Central and Western New York. Current standards of care are so weak that breeders can legally keep dogs in tiny, stacked cages with wire floors that may injure their paws and legs.

Vote Oswego ‘Blitz Week’ Energizes College Registration Campaign

A semester-long SUNY Oswego class project to encourage students to register and vote in November’s presidential election and local races reached a crescendo recently as the Vote Oswego drive recruited students across campus to pitch in for a “blitz week” of nonpartisan mobilization events.
