The Hannibal Central School District welcomed a familiar face to a new position this year. Former middle school principal Dee Froio was appointed assistant superintendent for teaching, learning and accountability.
Fifteen new educators embarked on their teaching careers with the Hannibal Central School District this school year. The teachers received a warm welcome from district officials and colleagues during recent orientation sessions held at Dennis M. Kenney Middle School.
Fulton City School District student Ana Snyder represented G. Ray Bodley High School and New York State during the Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Boston, Mass.
Be kind, always. That was the message Fulton Junior High School students received after hearing the powerful story of the impact Rachel Joy Scott had on friends and family before and after her tragic death. Rachel was the first person killed in the Columbine High School tragedy on April 20, 1999.
Quirk’s Players of G. Ray Bodley High School is proud to announce that it will present the fast-paced comedy Unnecessary Farce this fall. Performances are scheduled for October 20, 21 22 in the Bodley High School auditorium. Curtain time is set for 7:30 p.m. each performance.
The Oswego Sunrise Rotary Club recently welcomed Patrick Dewine, executive director of the United Way of Greater Oswego County. Dewine discussed the United Way’s role as a reputable and reliable steward of charitable giving.
Teaming with Partners for Education and Business, Inc., and The Manufacturers Association of Central New York, Fulton will open its doors to 100 high school and college students and engage them in learning the many benefits and opportunities of manufacturing careers. The event will take place from 9 to 11a.m. at Fulton Companies, Corporate Headquarters, 972 Centerville Road, Pulaski.
The lives of some of the refugees living in the Fort Ontario Emergency Refugee Shelter are brought to the stage in Rick Sivers’ new drama, “Dawn of Freedom,” produced in conjunction with the Safe Haven Holocaust Refugee Museum and the Oswego Players.
The Hannibal Historical Society will host Hannibal History Day on October 15. The hours will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hannibal Community Center on Oswego Street in the village.
