Exelon Generation’s Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station will host an open house on Thursday, September 22, from 4-7 p.m. in the Training Center. This fun and educational event, known as Community Information Night, is open to all members of the community.
Happy Hearts Childcare, a new childcare facility in the town of Scriba, is open and accepting clients. In celebration, a ribbon cutting was held on September 14. An open house is planned September 25 from 1 to 4 p.m. at 4 Butternut Drive, Oswego (Scriba).

“Dawn of Freedom” is a joint project of the Oswego Players and the Safe Haven Museum and will have its world premiere in the Frances Marion Brown Theater in the Oswego Civic Arts Center on Oct. 8 and 9.
Business and organizations throughout Oswego County are demonstrating their support for the cause of literacy in Oswego County by helping to sponsor the 10th Annual Diane Falise Memorial Scrabble Fest fundraiser for Literacy Volunteers.
The 10-week course was developed by area manufacturers, the staff of Oswego County Workforce NY, and Cayuga Community College to prepare job-seekers for jobs as entry level production workers at local industries.
Recently, Catholic Charities of Oswego County held its annual board meeting and an appreciation reception for its employees.
“The unique aspect of this book auction is the videos” said Nick Little, Oswego Bookmobile Board of Directors member. “City leaders like our own Mayor Barlow, were asked to read excerpts from one of the six books in order to give the bidders a glimpse into the stories and of course, they’re fun to watch.”
Community members who have prediabetes are encouraged to enroll and learn how to make important life style changes to improve their health status. This proven, year-long program starts Oct. 6 at the Oswego YMCA, located at 265 W. First St.
An internationally respected and straight-forward parenting program is now being offered throughout Oswego County. The Circle of Security Parenting Series offers caregivers the opportunity to learn different ways to strengthen their relationships with their children. Any adult who cares for children can benefit from this program.
