Alex Brutcher and Morgan Stobart, members of the John C. Birdlebough Class of 2016, were the recipients of the scholarship. Brutcher received $40,000 to continue his education at Ithaca College, while Stobart was awarded $10,000 for tuition at Clarkson University.
SUNY Oswego’s Rice Creek Field Station has invited area Girl Scouts to a free program of exploring nature from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8. Participants can hike the trails and learn about the animals that inhabit the 400 acres of mixed terrain.

The Children’s Museum of Oswego is pleased to announce that it has received a $200,000 gift from Novelis for the Build, Play, Grow Campaign. The $200,000 gift will be used for continued development of permanent exhibits at the museum, to include the Novelis Aluminum exhibit.
Fulton Public Library will host an art show on October 6 from 4-6 p.m., featuring photography by Janelle Wallace. She is a local artist who grew up in Oswego and now lives in Fulton.

The Manor at Seneca Hill hosted its final car show for the season for its residents on a recent evening. Chip Pelton, a former rehab patient, coordinated this latest car show on Sept. 13. “Once you put the word out these car guys love it, and they just come out,” he said. ”They’re awesome.”
I live out in the country and the past few nights I have been hearing coyotes howling. It sounds like they are just outside my windows sometimes. I have never actually seen one. I just hear them at night and my pets are all in at night. But should I be concerned about one of my pets (I have two cats and a dog) running into one during the day?
Exelon Generation’s Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station will host an open house on Thursday, September 22, from 4-7 p.m. in the Training Center. This fun and educational event, known as Community Information Night, is open to all members of the community.
