The videoconference connection between 50 students, their family members and the Great Barrier Reef Aquarium in Australia was made possible through the Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation’s Distance Learning program.

“They are one of Oswego County’s most successful volunteer organizations and many people aren’t even aware of them,” said writer Jim Farfaglia about the Oswego County Pioneer Search and Rescue Team. Farfaglia is currently writing a book about the history of the team, which formed in 1971 to provide search and rescue support when a person goes missing.

The June 3-5 North Country Quilting Guild Biennial Quilt Show in Clayton, in the 1000 Islands region of New York State, will feature a silent auction of more than 60 miniature quilts made by quilters from across the Northern, Adirondack and Central NY regions.
