The Fulton City School District will be extending the upcoming Memorial Day weekend by adding May 27 and 31 as additional days off. May 30 all schools, district buildings and facilities are closed in recognition of Memorial Day.

Oswego County was incorporated on March 1, 1816 and the legislature commemorated this milestone as well as the county’s founding fathers at its monthly meeting that same month. Legislator Shawn Doyle, District 3, chairman of the Oswego County Bicentennial committee and historian for the town of Richland, presented another “History Moment” to showcase these men.

Oswego High School and Oswego Catholic High School Class of 1976 would like to invite all members and friends of their class to their 40th Class reunion. The reunion will be held on July 8 and 9.

More than a dozen students displayed artwork ranging from ceramics to painting. The students discussed each piece of artwork with The Gardens’ residents and explained the techniques used to create each piece.

History buffs gathered at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center in the Port City for the sixth annual Oswego International War of 1812 Symposium. From April 1 to 3, attendees gleaned fresh insights about the campaign and celebrated local history in honor of Oswego County’s bicentennial.

Fulton Rotary Club President Bridgette Seguin thanked membership chair Dave Cramer and her husband and treasurer, Jerry Seguin, for providing prospective members with their insights on being Rotarians.

The Oswego County Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee recently designated April as Fair Housing Month. The Oswego County Fair Housing Council supports, enforces and promotes equal housing opportunities for all county residents.

In recognition of National Denim Day a number of organizations partnered with Oswego County Opportunities’ Services to Aid Families program to raise awareness of sexual violence in Oswego County and show their support for survivors of sexual violence.
