History buffs gathered at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center in the Port City for the sixth annual Oswego International War of 1812 Symposium. From April 1 to 3, attendees gleaned fresh insights about the campaign and celebrated local history in honor of Oswego County’s bicentennial.

We’ve featured Ally before, but she still needs a home and she just keeps getting prettier and more mellow while she waits. When Ally was found under a porch she was so thin that her rescuers thought she was a kitten. She was at least a year old but only weighed 4 pounds. She was also scared and had no idea how to play.
Recently the Officers of the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps Truxtun DDG-103 division, based out of Oswego, took 21 cadets to visit the Norfolk Naval Base in Virginia. The cadets spent four days on base and experienced firsthand what base life is like.

In recognition of the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death, CNY Arts Center is joining hundreds of theatres around the globe to produce a classic comedy, Midsummer Night’s Dream which opens May 13 and runs through May 22 with performances at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m.
