The open house provided parents and teachers the opportunity to discuss classroom curriculum, and provided students the opportunity to showcase what they’ve learned throughout the first month of school.
On October 27, Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training and SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations will gather women from across New York State for Connections, a day-long conference to be held at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center in Oswego from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Oswego County Historical Society will host the next lecture of the 2015 season on October 18 at 1:30 p.m. at the Richardson-Bates House Museum located at 135 E. Third St., Oswego. The event is free and open to the public.
The sweet smell, snap of the first bite, and smoothness to their skin were all descriptions kindergarteners at James E. Lanigan Elementary School used during their field trip to Greco Family Farm & Orchard, Minetto.
Accomplished soprano Carol Chapman will perform a feast of songs from across Europe at 3 p.m. Oct. 18, in SUNY Oswego’s Sheldon Hall ballroom, assisted by past and present colleagues at Missouri State University.
Artifacts from the society’s collection, focusing on the Civil War and World War II, will be on display.
Thanks to Event Sponsors Harbor Pharmacy and Pathfinder Bank, St. Luke’s “Cheers To 40 Years” Wine and Beer Tasting Anniversary Celebration coming up in a few weeks will be a community celebration to remember! The “Cheers To 40 Years” Celebration takes place on October 23 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center, 26 E. First St.
Reality Check and Youth 4 Youth will hold a Youth Leadership Training October 11 – 12 at Camp Hollis. Teens 13-18 years old, living in Cayuga, Onondaga and Oswego counties who are interested in learning critical leadership skills such as public speaking and managing a group, are encouraged to attend.
The annual United Way Walk-A-Thon comes back to benefit the community on the SUNY Oswego campus on October 17. Registration begins at 11 a.m. outside of Lanigan Hall and the walk will follow at noon.
