CNY Arts Center Writer’s Cafe is held on the last Sunday of each month. It will meet at 6 p.m. August 30, at the center, located at 11 River Glen Drive on the Cayuga Community College Campus.

The Children’s Room at the Oswego Public library offers free storyhour, crafts and snacks for children. Storyhours take place on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and Fridays at 10:30 a.m.

The event will be held September 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and September 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church which is located at 758 State Route 176, just west of Fulton.

New York Sea Grant has announced the publication of Dogs and Harmful Algal Blooms. Harmful algal blooms, also identified as HAB, especially in fresh water, are overgrowths of cyanobacteria, or blue green algae, that cause water quality problems in lakes and ponds, including the occasional production of potent toxins. These toxins can poison people, household pets, waterfowl and livestock.

The Children’s Room at the Oswego Public Library is excited to announce special events and activities for the fall. Read with Lucy – Beginning on September 15, Lucy is returning to the library. She is a therapy dog who loves to be read to. It takes place on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 6:30 p.m.. Bring your children so they can come read to Lucy.

New York Sea Grant, the Great New York State Fair, and the Great Lakes Research Consortium are pleased to announce the schedule of in-water ROV Demo Days presented by four area school districts and SUNY Oswego at the 2015 Great New York State Fair.

Their toe-tappin’, heart-touchin’, home-grown, Southen-fried faith-filled-music is planned for September 3 at 7 p.m.

Members of the Pulaski Historical Society invites you to join them for something different for lunch one day a month. On Sept. 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., you are invited to bring your lunch (or pick up some take-out at a local eatery) and come join us in the Carriage House at the Pulaski Historical Society.
