For those interested in expanding or starting a small business in Oswego County, there is a small business training class scheduled to begin in September. The course is scheduled to begin September 12 and run each Saturday through Oct. 10. The classes will be held at SUNY Oswego’s main campus, 118A Rich Hall, Oswego, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
On August 24, Sandy Creek Grange held its meeting in its building at Oswego County Fairgrounds. After a dinner of spaghetti and meatballs, the group adjourned to its evening meeting.
Dr. Nicole Krzyiewski, a 2006 graduate of Mexico High School, has returned to Oswego County and opened a chiropractic practice in Fulton. Canalview Chiropractic, PC, opened its doors on August 11. The practice aims to serve Fulton and the surrounding communities by provided high quality chiropractic care.
The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau is accepting donations of gently used books to support “Little Free Libraries” in Oswego County. Little Free Libraries are small public boxes which hold books for the community’s use. Anyone is welcome to borrow a book from a LFL and readers are encouraged to return books to keep the libraries stocked for others’ use.
Students who read at least 15 minutes per day for 40 days this summer and send their completed reading challenge into the office will receive a certificate from Barclay’s office and be invited to a Summer Reading Challenge party.

The most significant change being announced this fall is the cancellation of the fifth annual Arts Market held at this time each year in the old Nestles parking lot.
Exelon Generation’s Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station will host an open house on Wednesday, August 26, from 4-7 p.m. in the Training Center. This fun and educational event, known as Community Information Night, is open to all members of the community.
