The community is invited to attend an educational program to learn about what is considered normal physical and psychological changes that we might all expect to experience as we age, and what is not.

A group of Fairgrieve Elementary School students were honored recently for becoming expectation experts after having exemplified positive behaviors of responsibility, respect, safety and problem solving.

James E. Lanigan Elementary sixth graders launched homemade rockets near the school’s playground after having learned about rocket science. The students studied rocket components: engine mounts, fins, igniter, body tube, and launch lug, and Newton’s three laws of motion.

The story of SUNY Oswego will unfold for students and their loved ones Oct. 23 to 25, as Family and Friends Weekend features athletics and theater, exhibitions and entertainment, tours and academic presentations, recreation and dining. New for Family and Friends Weekend this year is the Academic Showcase, a series of five brief presentations about scholarly and creative projects from around campus.

The Oswego Buccaneer Boosters have planned its biggest and most exciting “BucFest” yet, to celebrate Homecoming 2015 and kick off the Buccaneers’ varsity home football game against Jamesville DeWitt High School.

The Oswego County Legislature’s Human Services Committee recently recognized Ryan Smith with the 2015 “Paul Santore Award for Outstanding Youth.”

Citing the need to support jobs, protect taxpayers and ensure the future of the FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant, Billy Barlow Tuesday (Oct. 6) announced that he has received the support and endorsement of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 73.

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Oswego County Opportunities Cancer Services Program has partnered with health providers throughout Oswego County to raise awareness of breast cancer and encourage community members to receive the cancer screenings they need.
