New York Sea Grant has announced the publication of Dogs and Harmful Algal Blooms. Harmful algal blooms, also identified as HAB, especially in fresh water, are overgrowths of cyanobacteria, or blue green algae, that cause water quality problems in lakes and ponds, including the occasional production of potent toxins. These toxins can poison people, household pets, waterfowl and livestock.
The Children’s Room at the Oswego Public Library is excited to announce special events and activities for the fall. Read with Lucy – Beginning on September 15, Lucy is returning to the library. She is a therapy dog who loves to be read to. It takes place on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 6:30 p.m.. Bring your children so they can come read to Lucy.
