The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County, including preventive health services, certified home health care, certified hospice, and a maternal and child health program.

There will be a chicken barbecue on July 25 from noon until sold out. It will benefit the Women of Faith bus trip to Hartford, Conn.

Action will take place in the harbor off Breitbeck Park with admission free shows on July 25 at 1, 3 and 5 p.m. and July 26 at noon, 2:15 and 4:15 p.m.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County is accepting registrations into its Shooting Sports Program. This program is open to all girls and boys ages 12 to 19 who are interested in rifle, shot gun, muzzleloading and air pistol.

Students enrolled in the Fulton Community School extended year program have embraced the “Healthy Kids, Healthy Community” motto this summer and with help from local agencies and businesses, they recently put that theme into action.

On July 14 at 6 p.m., members of the Oswego Traumatic Brain Injury Support Group will hear a presentation from guest speaker, Carrie E. Garcia. The support group meeting will take place at the ARISE Oswego office located at 9 Fourth Ave.

On July 5, Lake City No. 127 F&AM, float and marchers entered Oswego’s 52nd annual 4th of July Parade. A committee led by Earl Wilson spent hours planning and constructing this year’s float and inviting participation of the leaders of Masonic bodies from the State of New York.

Continental Arms Collectors Association’s Revolutionary War Unit continued its many year tradition of participating in the patriotic, family oriented annual Fair Haven Independence Parade held recently.

Residents of Morningstar Residential Care Center recently enjoyed a trip to Minetto for a picnic lunch and a leisurely afternoon of fishing along the banks of the Oswego River.
