Director Inez Parker has announced the cast of the upcoming Oswego Players’ production of “Guys and Dolls” to be staged this July in the Oswego Civic Arts Center. This will be Parker’s seventh consecutive summer musical with the Players, having begun her run in 2009 with “Meet Me in St. Louis.”
Kingsford Park Elementary School in Oswego held its annual triathlon event recently. The event, which featured swimming, biking and running, was held at Oswego Middle School.
Local Assemblymen Will Barclay (Pulaski) and Bob Oaks (Macedon) participated in the annual National Running Day event at the New York State Capitol complex in Albany on the morning of June 3. The event is a national initiative to promote running as a healthy, easy and accessible form of exercise.
To be named to the President’s List, a student must achieve a perfect 4.0 average for the semester and complete 12 credit hours.
U.S. Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Angela M. Heath graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
Sunshine Horses will host an open house on June 13 from noon – 4 p.m. The event will be held at Little Apple Stables, 1777 County Route 12, Central Square.
The State Senate marked “Animal Advocacy Day” at the State Capitol Wednesday by passing a series of bills to protect animals, including a measure sponsored by Senator Patty Ritchie that would double prison sentences for abusing an animal in the presence of a child.
Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super veteran Mike Bruce will appear at the fourth annual River’s Edge Craft Show on Sunday at Breitbeck Park with his No. 22 machine. The Oswego Lions Club will host the event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 41 Lake St.
The deadline for submitting nominations to the Zonta Club of Oswego for the Amelia Earhart Woman of Achievement Award is June 19. This is the 31st anniversary of the award which is presented annually to a woman whose hard work and dedication has made a difference in the lives of families in the Oswego community.
