Friends of Fort Ontario will host a free history walk at Fort Ontario State Historic Site at 2 p.m. on World Refugee Day, June 20, to honor the Holocaust refugees who lived at Fort Ontario during and after World War II. The walk around the grounds of the former 75-acre Fort Ontario Military Reservation will tell the story of the 986 mostly Jewish refugees from the Nazi Holocaust who lived at the old fort from 1944 to 1946.

CNY Arts Center is honored to announce a collaboration with Fulton native artist Don Gillespie this summer to include an exhibit of his work and a guest appearance as Master Teacher at ARTY Camp. “Kindred Spirits,” an exhibit celebrating Central New York’s rich art heritage, will open June 30 and run through August 21 with a kickoff reception July 1 from 6-8 p.m. at CNY Arts Center’s gallery, 11 River Glen Drive on the CCC campus.
