Part-time SUNY Canton students are being recognized for their outstanding achievement during the spring 2015 semesters Part-Time honors are awarded to students who earned at least a 3.25 GPA in 6 to 11 credits of coursework.
In conjunction with the New York State “Path Through History” weekend, the town of Volney History Center will host “Scrapbook Corner” at the town hall on County Route 6, Volney Center. The scrapbooks will be available for genealogy and general reading 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 20.
Taverni was a music teacher at Charles E. Riley Elementary, where she has been employed since 1989. She received a certificate of recognition from the Board of Education for her recent retirement and years of service.
Emily McGinley of Phoenix was among 47 members of the SUNY Oneonta Class of 2015 who received Senior Service Awards recognizing their commitment to volunteerism. Seniors who completed at least 350 hours of service through the college’s Center for Social Responsibility and Community were recognized during a reception in May.
Argersinger received the degree of bachelor of arts Magna cum laude. Argersinger is a member of the Class of 2015 and majored in English and Francophone studies.
Recently promoted to the position of regional coordinators with Education First High School Exchange Year of Cambridge, Mass., the Lofortes are tasked with building a presence for EF in Upstate New York.
Pulaski resident James Hefti, a master’s student in the Global Field Program from Miami University’s Project Dragonfly, will travel to Belize in summer 2015. Hefti will study coral reefs, manatees, howler monkeys, jaguars and other wildlife while learning the methods communities are using to sustain them.
