Students at Pulaski Middle/Senior High School presented a showcase of musical talent featuring vocal performances from some of the greatest musical productions of all time. A fitting beginning to the evening’s entertainment was the song “Maybe This Time” by Cassie Delgado from the musical “Cabaret.”
Hannibal students saw first-hand the dangers of drinking and driving at a recent mock DWI demonstration at the Hannibal High School. Hannibal juniors and seniors played the parts of drivers and victims involved in a head-on collision. The event is intended to educate the Hannibal audience on the realities of poor driving decisions and encourage them to make good choices during prom season.
Residents, cottage and business owners, and visitors to the eastern Lake Ontario shore and North Sandy Pond areas are invited to meet with staff from New York Sea Grant and the Oswego County Soil and Conservation District to share their stories and photos of storms and storm damage at the Sandy Creek Town Hall, 1992 Harwood Drive, Sandy Creek, on May 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Nazareth College graduate students earned their master’s or doctoral degrees at the 88th Annual Commencement ceremony that took place at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester on May 10.
Major sponsors of the 16th Annual Oswego County Hospice Cup Regatta gathered recently at the Oswego Yacht Club. The Regatta will take place on June 20.
The following residents were part of Becker College’s Class of 2015, which graduated during the college’s 227th commencement ceremony, held on May 9 at the DCU Center in Worcester.
The Oswego High School String program will celebrate 30-plus years with the first OHS String Alumni Reunion Concert on June 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ralph M. Faust Theater at Oswego High School. If you are an alumni of the program, there is still time to join on for the event, see some old friends and perform once again for family and friends, according to director Cheryl Rogers.
The second annual Oswego City Bike Rodeo will be held June 5, from 5 – 8 p.m. at the open lot adjacent to the Oswego Eastside Fire Station. In the event of rain, the rodeo will move indoors to the Eastside Fire House. Dominoes will be on hand with free pizza and Oswego Speedway drivers and their cars will be on display as well as local agencies.
CNY Arts Center’s Dessert Theatre Series returns for one night only on May 30 with 1940s Old Time Radio. The show will be set at a radio station and will feature pop songs of the decade focusing on wartime and post war songs, commercials and skits complete with live sound effects.
