CiTi Students Help Rebuild Fort Ontario Fence

Construction Technology students from the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation recently spent some time helping to rebuild some of the fencing at Fort Ontario in Oswego. The fence needed to be constructed from materials that were available in the 1800s thus providing a distinctive learning experience for the students.

Oswego High School Technology Club Hosts Electrathon Competition at Oswego Speedway

An Electrathon, involves three- or four-wheeled electric vehicles, somewhat similar in overall appearance to a Go-Kart with an aerodynamic body, but powered by an electric motor and batteries. According to Matt Bock, the OHS Technology Club advisor, an Electrathon is a one-hour competition that tests drivers and vehicles to see how many laps the car can go within that time frame.

Volney Students Earn Recognition For Being Role Models

Betsy Conners, the executive director of Instruction and Assessment for the Fulton City School District, congratulated the students for portraying the monthly virtue of self-control. She also recognized students who didn’t earn the monthly distinction as role models but still offered support and words of encouragement to those who took home the honor.

CiTi Earns Utica National’s School Safety Excellence Award

The Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation is one of 131 school districts and Board of Cooperative Educational Services in New York State to receive the Utica National Insurance Group’s “School Safety Excellence Award” for 2015. The honor, presented annually, recognizes school districts’ safety efforts as they work to help keep students, staff and visitors safe.
