The 7th Annual JCB’s Got Talent Show, hosted by Alexis Bowering and Clarissa Scharf, showcased the wide range of talent in the Phoenix School District. More than two dozen solo, duet and group musical and comedic acts entertained a large crowd of family and friends.

The Salmon River Strutters Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation Hunting Heritage Fundraising Banquet will be held at the Elms Golf Club, 2 Country Club Lane in Sandy Creek on June 5.

Hard work, commitment, character and academic success were in focus recently as 140 Oswego County students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society. The honorees, all Career and Technical Education students at CiTi, achieved high marks in the classroom and exhibited tremendous character to meet the eligibility requirements for membership.

Oswego Speedway is proud to join the Oswego Bicycle Rodeo presented by the Oswego County Traffic Safety Board, the Oswego Fire Department, and the Oswego Police Department to be held on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the East Fire Station in Oswego.

Megan Holzwarth, a Graphic Design major from Central Square, was a member of the 2015 SUNY Oneonta women’s track and field team. The Red Dragons finished 5th indoor and 3rd outdoor at the SUNYAC Championships this year.

The Oswego County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning recently announced the winners of the Oswego County Fishing and Hunting Guide Photo Contest. They were honored at a reception where they received certificates and prizes that included gift bags, gift certificates, and a variety of river and lake guided fishing trips.

Oswego High School junior Jenna Ballard will present a solo piano recital at 2 p.m. on June 7 at the Church of the Resurrection, 120 W. Fifth St. The program is free and open to the public. Those who would like to make a monetary donation to the Oswego County Humane Society may do so in the collection box in the back of the room.

The halls of Fairley Elementary School were transformed into an art gallery recently as student-generated drawings, painting and sculptures were on display. Guests perused the school as they “traveled the world with art.” Each wing of the building had artwork inspired by a different country.

During a recent assembly at Volney Elementary School, students were praised for exemplifying positive behavior traits and serving as role models throughout the month of May. Nearly 50 students from throughout the school were recognized for their positive character.
