Farmers will learn how to connect with customers and potential customers online by improving their farms web presence. There will be two workshops offered, in the morning we’ll be covering how to build and launch a farm website, and in the afternoon we’ll discuss using social media platforms to promote a farm operation.
Set for 6:30 – 8 p.m. April 23 in the GRB auditorium and technology labs, community members are invited to explore some of the unique learning opportunities available to students within the Fulton City School District.
The Paradox, the Oswego High School’s yearbook, has been recognized for excellence and featured in the 2015 Jostens Look Book, celebrating the best-of-the-best in yearbook design and coverage. The Jostens Look Book is a collection of spreads and photos from outstanding yearbooks and their creative themes, cool covers, dazzling designs, relevant coverage, storytelling copy and action-packed photography.
Hannibal Dollars for Scholars will host a pulled pork barbecue on April 19 at the Hannibal American Legion on Rochester Street. The BBQ will run from noon until 3:30 p.m. or until sold out. The price of $9 includes pulled pork with a kaiser roll, cole slaw, salt potatoes, baked beans and dessert.

MACS joins 388 districts across the country in receiving the prestigious distinction in 2015; almost a third of the list came from New York State, and only two schools from Oswego County received the title.
Prom season is quickly approaching, and students at G. Ray Bodley High School are gearing up for the annual prom dress sale, which provides new and gently used formal attire at an affordable price. According to GRB teacher Leah Simonds, all the formal wear is in mint condition, the only difference is the price.
The Oswego County Counselors Association in conjunction with SUNY Oswego is pleased to offer an evening college fair this spring. This event made its debut last spring and was a huge success. College Night will be held at the SUNY Oswego Marano Campus Center on April 27 from 6-8 p.m.
The Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County is asking community members to come together to help ‘Be The End’ of child abuse. The CAC will officially kick off its ‘Be the End’ campaign at the agency’s annual meeting. At the center of the ‘Be the End’ campaign is a bold initiative known as Unto the Third Generation. Authored by Victor Vieth, Unto the Third Generation outlines the necessary steps we must all take to eliminate child abuse in America in three generations.
The Oswego County Environmental Management Council will observe Earth Week throughout Oswego County from April 22 through 28. “Since the original Earth Day was celebrated in the United States on April 22, 1970, that date has become a worldwide day for individuals, groups, schools and organizations to demonstrate a commitment to environmental stewardship,” said Tim Carroll, EMC president and Earth Week coordinator.
