Sixth grade students at Leighton Elementary School in Oswego are enjoying a retrospective art display, thanks to their art teacher, Michele Gorham. She has been saving student portraits that were created since kindergarten, and the artwork is now being paired with their present day portraits.
A project-based learning activity in Mary Ryan’s classroom at the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation recently wrapped up with a culminating activity that included a visit from a local bakery owner. Since October, students have been writing journals, researching recipes, and working together to make tasty snacks and create a cookbook of “no bake” treats.

There is a stray cat who has been hanging around my house for the past several weeks, well OK, I’ve been feeding her, but I can’t really help myself. I have asked all my neighbors, put up flyers in the usual places, checked the lost and found listings to try to find her owners, but no luck with that. So I am thinking I will get her to a vet and let her move in.
