Volney Elementary students received Monthly Classroom Role Model and Monthly “On-a-Roll” Model awards for displaying the character trait of honesty for the month of February.
Lanigan fourth graders devised some creative assignments for a recent science fair. Projects ranged from your traditional solar system to an experiment testing which brand of nail polish lasts the longest. Meghan Galvin got her inspiration while eating potato chips.
Lanigan first and fourth graders and their families attended a Learning Café for tips and resources on understanding the purpose of homework recently. The event was hosted by math instructional coach Lynnette DePoint, ELA instructional coach Gina Salerno and Principal Jeff Hendrickson.

Quirk’s Players’ 2015 annual musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie, will be presented March 5-6-7 at G. Ray Bodley High School.
At a recent Sunrise Rotary Club meeting, Rotarian Jeanne Cieszeski introduced members of the Quirk’s Players of G. Ray Bodley High School. The actors announced that the Players will present the fun Broadway musical Thoroughly Modern Millie and gave club members some insight into how a show such as this comes together.
On March 11, the students within the Fulton City School District in grades UPK – 12 will have an early dismissal. Grades 7 – 12 will dismiss at 10:30 a.m. and morning Pre K – 6 will dismiss at 11:15 a.m.
There will be no afternoon Pre-K classes.
On March 23 at 7 p.m., at the Hannibal Community Center, Oswego Street, Hannibal, John Donohue will be sharing his experiences during his quest to find out “Who Were the Women of Perm? The history of Donohue’s quest started in July of 1918, when Nicholas Romanov, Tsar of all the Russias, along with his immediate family and several others, were assassinated in a cellar in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
Leighton Elementary School in Oswego was full of positive energy and activities recently for their Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports celebration. PBIS is a district-wide approach to teaching, modeling, recognizing and encouraging positive behaviors in a school setting, while providing a framework and social system that supports success outside the school, as well.
