Phoenix Students Team Up To Benefit OCAWL

Students at Dillon Middle School recently spearheaded a food drive to benefit the Oswego County Animal Welfare League. The idea sprung out of a discussion among EJD Student Council members who were considering different projects that could positively affect the community. After hearing stories about local pets being abandoned, abused and malnourished, the students wanted to do something to help.

Seasoned Bodley Seniors Gear Up for Last Performance, ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’

Kaitlyn Kinney, Kennedie Coyne, Lexi Abelgore and Katie Salmansen have been involved with Quirk’s Players (the Fulton student theater group) for the majority of their high school career. Now, after numerous productions, the four seniors will give their last performance in “Thoroughly Modern Millie” this March. Community members may remember these girls from previous performances like “Curtains,” “Hello, Dolly” or “Damn Yankees.”

Phoenix Teachers Show Love to Golisano Children on Valentine’s

Michael A Maroun Elementary teachers joined together in purchasing and assembling goodie bags for the cancer unit at Golisano Children’s Hospital for Valentine’s Day. Guidance counselor Nora Germain said she was overwhelmed by the generosity of the MAM staff. The first grade alone donated $130 to the cause.

Pulaski High School’s ‘Ditch Day’ Set March 6-7

Pulaski Middle/Senior High School will present a production called “Ditch Day” on March 6-7 in the high school auditorium with performances beginning at 7 p.m. each day. The play focuses around a high school’s tradition of skipping school the day before prom and the hilarious circumstances that result when three diamond thieves and the high school principal follow the students through a day filled with crazy characters.

Magical John Stuns Hannibal Students

Hannibal students were recently entertained by magic and comedy act “Magical John” for a Hannibal Home and School. (HandS) fundraiser. Magical John stunned the audience with card tricks and enchanted stunts, all while keeping the audience laughing with his jokes. Student volunteers assisted with card tricks and optical illusions.

Ticket sales for this year’s “Bundle of Bucks” Charity Raffle are well under way and the St. Luke Family of Caring is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s “Early Bird” drawing. Everyone who purchased “Bundle of Bucks” charity raffle tickets on or before February 14 was entered in the “Early Bird” drawing where five – $100 prizes have been awarded.
