Beginning Feb 21, the Salmon River Fine Arts Center in Pulaski will host an amazing art show displaying works from selected artists ages 5 through 1 from Lura M Sharp and Sandy Creek Elementary schools. This show, free and open to the public, will be held in the main gallery at 4848 N. Jefferson St, Pulaski through March 14.

The Fulton Elks Lodge at 57 Pierce Drive has resumed its Friday night dinners. The Elks serve a full menu including fresh fish, chicken, steak and seafood that includes homemade sides.

The selection of the 2015 Oswego Harborfest poster is just about completed. This year art students at the G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton partnered with Harborfest to create colorful posters for consideration.

State Senator Patty Ritchie joined fellow lawmakers at the Capitol to call for an end to the “Gap Elimination Adjustment,” a budget gimmick that has continued to hurt schools and students since its implementation in 2010.

They will now represent the school in the district-wide spelling bee to be held on March 21 at 10 a.m. at Oswego High School’s Ralph M. Faust Theatre.

Fairley Elementary students learned that the sky is the limit at a recent concert by musician Jared Campbell. His elementary concerts are a part of what he calls the “Blue Project,” an initiative to help students gain self-esteem and an understanding that everyone has value.

The Minetto United Methodist Church will host a free dinner on February 22. Serving will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The menu will be turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetable, bread, beverage and dessert. Donations are not expected but will be accepted.

To be named to the President’s List, a student must achieve a 4.0 (all As) grade-point average.
