CNY Arts Center will offer classes for kids in paper crafting and collage, Irish Dance Drama, Glee Club, and beginning guitar lessons from February 16 to 20 during winter recess. Classes will be held at CNY Arts Center located on the CCC Fulton Campus and Arts in the Heart Studio at 47 S. First St.
Oswego High School’s rescheduled FAFSA workshop is Thursday, February 5, providing high school seniors planning to attend college, and their parents the opportunity to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid on-line. Experienced financial aid experts from the State University of New York College at Oswego Financial Aid department will be available to assist in the OHS Library from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The shops at Canal Commons are planning a “Taste the Commons” event for Warm Up Oswego on Saturday. Tastings tickets will be available at the commons doors for $1 each. Some tastings may require more than one ticket. Tastings will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. during Warm Up Oswego.
The Fulton City School District Board of Education’s communications committee will host a forum in the library media center at GRB High School on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. District residents are invited to the forum to ask questions and discuss events, programs and happenings occurring in the school district.
Aaron Roth was appointed as a long-term care specialist for Northwestern Mutual of the Dodd Agency effective January 1. He will be responsible for ensuring that the long-term care needs of clients are addressed as part of their overall plan to achieve financial security.
Sarah Townsend has assumed the role of Co-Volunteer Examiner Coordinator, along with Pamela Cantine of the Fulton Amateur Radio Club. The radio club has an outstanding record for generating new licensees and upgrades and having an additional VEC will be beneficial to the amateur radio community.
The greater Fulton community is invited to enjoy a pre-Lenten Mardi Gras Party at First United Church of Fulton, 33 S. Third St., on February 15 at 2 p.m. Admission is free. The community is welcome.
Oswego County Opportunities’ Literacy Volunteers program is offering a tutor orientation for its 2015 winter session on March 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. The tutor orientation will be held at the Oswego Housing Development Council offices in Parish, at 2944 E. Main St.
Members of Oswego Firefighters IAFF Local #126 presented Carolyn Handville, coordinator of Oswego County Opportunities’ Cancer Services Program Partnership with a $3,500 check. The Oswego Firefighters raised the money by selling specially designed pink T-shirts in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Peggy Donnelly introduced Greg Mills, executive director of the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce. He spoke about the mission and goals of the chamber by advancing the business and community interest of the region through member services and community enhancements.
