In the midst of another long cold winter OCO Nutrition Services is ensuring that those in its home delivered meal program have an emergency supply of food on hand in the event that they are unable to receive their regular meal due to inclement weather conditions. With the help of area businesses, community members and student volunteers OCO has been collecting food for, preparing and delivering blizzard bags throughout Oswego County since November.

The junior varsity guard, competing in the Scholastic Regional A class of the Mid-York Color Guard Circuit, will perform their 2015 program “British Invasion,” which features the music of The Beatles and One Direction.

Quarterly Siren Tests Scheduled for Feb. 2 – 6 in Oswego County

The Oswego County Emergency Management Office announces that the system of emergency notification sirens surrounding the three nuclear power plants at Nine Mile Point will be tested during the week of Feb. 2 through 6 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The test is a portion of the regular testing program of the Oswego County emergency alert system. The public is not required to take protective action during the siren tests.

Performances are scheduled for March 5, 6 and 7 in the Bodley H.S. Auditorium. Curtain time is set for 7:30 each evening. Additionally there will be a 2 p.m. matinee on March 7. Oswego County Tourism Partners Work Together to Bring in Visitors

Oswego County public officials and tourism partners gathered last week to learn how they can participate in a new project to increase the number of visitors to the area. Tourism offices in the five counties that make up the CNY Regional Economic Development Committee (Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga and Oswego) are working together to conduct a regional visitor study.
