The Oswego County Legislature approved a new fee schedule for changes to tax maps for subdivisions at its Nov. 13 meeting. The new fees take effect Jan. 1. The resolution authorizes the Real Property Tax Office to require any subdivision that requires a change to a tax map to be filed in the Real Property Tax Office with a fee before it is filed with the Oswego County Clerk.
St. Mary’s parishioners filled the wish lists on more than 300 tags from the church’s annual Giving Tree and donated approximately 1,000 gift items. The gifts will be distributed through the Children’s Fund, Inc., Catholic Charities of Oswego County and Frederick Leighton School.
The results of inspections for restaurants and other food service establishments in Oswego County are available to the public through an online search at http://oswegocounty.com/Rest_Inspections.shtml
Fulton Noon Rotary Club President Lori Greeney thanked Mayor Ronald Woodward for his informational talk at a recent meeting. The mayor’s focus was on the cleaning of the lake.
The event will feature a narrated historical stroll around the grounds and buildings of the old 75-acre military reservation. Led by AmeriCorps staffer and historian Mitchell Manniccia, the walk will begin at 10 a.m. in the Enlisted Men’s Barracks inside the old stone fort. The event is free and open to the public.
The program provides a 24-hour small-business training program that covers such topics as how to write a business plan, how to obtain financing, accounting and tax issues, business insurance, legalities, marketing, and other basic business start-up issues.
Proceeds from a modest fee, chances to win Laker hockey jerseys donated by the college’s Auxiliary Services and extra donations benefited the State Employees Federated Appeal/United Way charitable campaign.
Rotarian David Cramer introduced Lauren Whitney, the director of Creatively Hopeful. Creatively Hopeful is a place where women can find a break from their stressful lives and learn new skills such as crocheting and sewing.

Holiday music echoed throughout the Sandy Creek Elementary School wing recently as pre-kindergarten students treated family members to two separate concerts. Students in both the morning and afternoon pre-k programs belted out classic tunes while dancing and moving along to the beat of the music.
