Scholars, scientists, educators and students are invited to submit proposals for the 20th annual Rice Creek Associates Small Grants Program by Feb. 15. Approved projects must involve work at SUNY Oswego’s Rice Creek Field Station. Awards are expected to range between $500 and $2,500, said Dr. Peter Rosenbaum, professor of biological sciences at SUNY Oswego.
The sounds of the holiday season will once again be heard at 7 p.m. Dec. 14 at the annual Fulton Community Band Christmas Concert in the G. Ray Bodley High School auditorium. The concert is free and FMA is providing free bus transportation to and from the concert for residents of Towpath Towers and Fulton Mill Apartments.

The student council members were asked at their initial meeting this school year to create a list of ideas for fundraisers and other ways in which they could help the school and Oswego community. The weeklong coat drive was one of the ideas suggested by the members.

Students in the SUNY Oswego chapter of the education honor society Kappa Delta Pi held a book fair during the first week of December in the Marano Campus Center. Funds raised go to support literacy projects in the community and help purchase books for local children who are most in need.
Compass Credit Union in Oswego recently donated $500 to the Home and School Association at Kingsford Park Elementary School in Oswego. It will help pay for winter clothes and other student needs.
