Dillon Middle School Hosts Father-Daughter Dance

Working in collaboration with the Mexico Volunteer Fire Department, the auditorium raise training was a hands-on demonstration that promoted teamwork. A 28-foot extension ladder stood vertically, thanks to multiple ropes attached to the top of the ladder and anchored on the ground level by students.
The event, which brings teams of fourth graders from across the Central New York Region, is the first qualifier level in the national competition with winners from this qualifying event advancing to the state level.
In honor of Veterans’ Day, students at Fairgrieve Elementary School recently welcomed U.S. Army veteran Donna Kestner to its morning assembly to discuss the importance of service and sacrifice. Kestner was stationed at the Pentagon for four years and she told the students about some of the agencies and services available to veterans.
The Knit-Wits, a senior knitting group in Oswego, recently donated 16 lap blankets to Oswego County Hospice. The handmade blankets will be distributed to patients in the program.
Lori Kowalski was hired as a commercial lines senior account executive at Eastern Shore Associates Insurance it was announced by Martha Murray, president. Kowalski will be in the agency’s Fulton office.
Rent-A-Ride neighborhood car rental recently announced the addition of a new Syracuse office at 515 Charles Ave., next to Canettas Collision, it was announced by Marc Fernandez, CEO.
A capella singing of the psalms will be at the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Fulton, 207 S. First St., across from the post office.

The U.S. Small Business Administration honored the 15 participating companies in its Emerging Leaders Initiative at a graduation ceremony at SUNY ESF on November 5. Included in the group was Theresa Himes, president and CEO Bosco and Geers Food Market LTD., Oswego.
