The Oswego County Fairgrounds in Sandy Creek will bustle with old engines, tractors, vendors and music at the Crank It Up! Antique Tractor and Engine Show on Sept. 20 and 21 at the Sandy Creek Fairgrounds. Admission is by donation. Parking is free. “Our show is a family-friendly event that features vintage farm machinery, crafts, music, and traditional agricultural activities from the rural North Country,” said show organizer Doreen Macklen.

One of the much anticipated end of summer traditions at St. Luke is the annual old fashioned bazaar, which took place on the Riverview Terrace last evening, a perfect setting for the carnival-like atmosphere enjoyed by attendees of all ages.

This year’s fairs, which feature new locations for the Oswego and Jefferson County events, as well as more vendors than ever before, will take place in the coming weeks and offer local seniors access to free health checks, flu shots, tips for improving well-being, lunch, entertainment and more.

Elyse Cianfarano, a Sociology and Anthropology major from Fulton, has been awarded the Dean’s Award for academic excellence by Colgate University for the spring 2014 semester.

Bailey, Haskell and LaLonde is a $2,000 “Triple Word” level sponsor of the eighth annual Diane Falise Memorial Scrabble Fest. This benefit for Literacy Volunteers of Oswego County, will take place on Sept. 19 at the Oswego Elks Lodge.

SUNY Oswego has made $1,000 Merit Awards to a select group of students who are starting at the college in fall 2014.
