Dr. Newell earned her medical degree from the University of Vermont and completed her internal medicine residency at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.

36th Annual Pageant of Champions set September 20

The Oswego High School Band Parents Association and the Marching Buccaneers are excited to host the 36th Annual Pageant of Champions on Sept. 20 at 6:30 p.m. Talented marching bands from across Central New York will take over Oswego High School’s Joseph Wilber Field. Presale tickets are $6, and tickets will be available for purchase at the door the day of the event for $8.

Meg Henderson, coordinator of Literacy Volunteers, has announced that NewsChannel 9 News Anchor Christie Casciano will serve as the emcee for Literacy Volunteers’ eoghth annual Diane Falise Memorial Scrabble Fest. A veteran of the Central New York news scene, Casciano anchors the 11 p.m. newscast on NewsChannel 9 as well as the 10 p.m. newscast on digital channel 9.2.

Antique Engines and Tractors Will Run Again at ‘Crank It Up’ Show Sept. 20- 21

The Oswego County Fairgrounds in Sandy Creek will bustle with old engines, tractors, vendors and music at the Crank It Up! Antique Tractor and Engine Show on Sept. 20 and 21 at the Sandy Creek Fairgrounds. Admission is by donation. Parking is free. “Our show is a family-friendly event that features vintage farm machinery, crafts, music, and traditional agricultural activities from the rural North Country,” said show organizer Doreen Macklen.
