On Thursday morning (July 24), representatives of family court judge candidate Lou Anne Rucynski Coleman filed her nominating petitions for the November 4 general election. “We submitted more than double the number of signatures required,” said campaign coordinator Jake Mulcahey, calling the support the campaign has received from the community “enthusiastic.”
Oswego County Opportunities will host a craft and vendor fair to raise funds for its upcoming Family Fun Day. If you are interested in reserving a space, please contact Stephanie Meeker at (315) 342-7532 ext.124 or via email at [email protected]
The Mexico Men’s VFW Auxiliary wishes to invite you to its annual steak bake. It will be held August 17 at the VFW field, Route 3 North, in Mexico. The men’s auxiliary is a community-based group with more than 100 members that help with Mexico VFW Post 369 and veterans.
Anyone who has recently moved into the Oswego City School District or has had a change of address is asked to register their child or children as soon as possible. Class lists are taking shape and it is critical that students who are going to be enrolled in the district are properly registered.
Light Up the Night is a very different event, offering both a traditional 5k Run/Walk and a more creative one. It will be inclusive for anyone who wants to join in the fun. The more unconventional run/walk invites participants to wear some form of lighting (glow-in-the-dark items, battery pack lighting or other), along with costumes if they choose.
“Our veterans have served our country with honor, and they deserve the very best care and benefits,” said Rep. Dan Maffei. “This survey will help identify the unique issues facing veterans in Central New York. It is important for me to continue hearing directly from our veterans, and I encourage all veterans across the 24th District to share their concerns and thoughts about ways we can better serve them.”
Pathfinder Bancorp, Inc. (“Company”), the mid-tier holding company of Pathfinder Bank (“Bank”), (NASDAQ: PBHC) announced its results for the three and six-month periods ended June 30, 2014.
The Mercyhurst University Department of Athletics announced 389 Mercyhurst Scholar-Athletes in the 2013-2014 school year. A student-athlete must earn at least a 3.0 grade point average to qualify for the list. Among them is a pair from Oswego County.
Two of six large sculptures to grace a maple-shaded triangle of land near the Marano Center at SUNY Oswego rose recently for a two-year run that art faculty member Benjamin Entner hopes will mark the beginning in a drive for more public art on campus. Artists Coral Lambert of SUNY Alfred and Eric Stein of Huguenot recently installed “Shape Shifters” and “Cutter,” respectively. The rest of the sculpture garden will take root by early fall, flanking a grove of 10 maple trees along several of the most heavily used walkways on campus.
