Plans Under Way for Lions’ Cow Chip Bingo, Classic Car Show and Chicken BBQ

The Oswego Lions Club will present the ninth annual “Cow Chip Bingo” with Classic Car Show on September 13 at Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego. The Cow Chip Bingo portion of the day will begin at noon. We will also feature Lighthouse Lanes famous chicken Bar-B-Q being served from noon to 4 p.m. or until sold out. Proceeds from the Cow Chip Bingo portion will be used to support our annual scholarship fund in memory of Harold “H” and Mary Dowd.

After about 20 years, Denesha Field’s bleachers finally got a fresh coat of forest green paint. AmeriCorps members address critical needs in communities all across America.

Oswego Health’s Advanced Orthopedics Group welcomes Jerod Hines, MD, to suite 280 of the Oswego Health Services Center. Dr. Hines is a graduate of the University of Utah’s School of Medicine, located in Salt Lake City. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery and his fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at McGill University Health Centre, located in Montreal, Quebec.

Porky and Buddy Pet Health – Teaching Kittens To Play Nice

I just adopted a new kitten, Harry. He is coal black, totally handsome, and was the last of his litter to be adopted. I think he must have been getting bored with no litter mates to play with because he seems to think I am his new litter mate, which I guess I am. The only problem is while I love to play with him, he is a little rough – tying to bite me – not in a mean way but it still hurts and he is only eight weeks old. How can I get him to stop?

Youth Bureau Is Recruiting for Local AmeriCorps Programs

“AmeriCorps, a national service program, is known as the domestic Peace Corps,” said Brian Chetney, Youth Bureau Director. “Currently we have openings in Oswego County for 900-hour positions in the Oswego AmeriCorps and the Oswego Economic Development Corps. The positions will vary in length from six to 12 months, depending on the needs of the sponsoring agency.”
