At its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on July 1, the City of Fulton Republican Committee unanimously voted to endorse Republican candidate Salvatore Lanza for Oswego County Family Court Judge.

The Oswego City School District still has openings for the Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program. The program is designed for children who were born between Dec. 2, 2009, and Dec. 1, 2010, and is offered at no cost.

On June 14, the 11 students of the county’s Search and Rescue Academy completed their final field testing and certification, culminating classroom and field work that started in March and entailed more than 108 hours of instruction.

State Senator Patty Ritchie has been picked to be part of a nationwide group looking at ways to improve services and outreach to veterans and active members of America’s military.

Dance! Dance! is being offered from 9 a.m. to noon on July 7-11 at CNY Arts Center, 357 State St. Students will learn lyrical and ballet and several routines to share with parents at the end of the week.

The Oswego County Republican Committee held candidate screening and schedules endorsement meeting for newly created Family Court Judge position. “It is critically important to me that the OCRC listens to its members and every committee person has a voice in this process,” said OCRC chairman Michael Backus.

Oswego County STOP-DWI coordinator Robert Lighthall announced that Oswego County police agencies will participate in a special enforcement effort to crackdown on impaired driving. The statewide STOP-DWI Crackdown efforts start on July 3 and will end on July 7.
