The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County, including preventive health services, certified home health care, long-term home health care, certified hospice, and a maternal and child health program.
More than 675 transfer students have reserved places at SUNY Oswego for fall 2014. Classes start Aug. 25.
National Grid CNY jurisdictional manager Walter Dengos presented Lois Luber, resource development director for the United Way of Greater Oswego County, with a check for $5,000. It represents National Grid’s corporate support for the agency’s annual campaign.
Bring the whole family to Fort Ontario State Historic Site, 1 E. Fourth St., Oswego, for a performance of “The Great Rope,” the award-winning play written by the late Rosemary Nesbitt of Oswego. The one-time-only show begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday. “We’ve put together a great group of children and adults from the community to help us bring this play to life again and honor Rosemary’s vision,” said director Jonel Langenfeld Rial, professor of theater and education in the SUNY Oswego Theater Department.
The Oswego Fire Department will be testing hydrants in the Third Ward of the city of Oswego for the next few weeks. If testing is being done in your neighborhood, you are advised to run an outside faucet, if possible, to eliminate any debris that may be generated from this procedure.

I just moved into a new house just outside of Oswego and there are woods across the street. At night sometimes I hear this eerie howling noise. At first, I had no idea what it was, but a neighbor told me there is a pack of coyotes living there and to keep my animals inside as they might attack them.
Take a trip back to when life was simple. Come to the North Volney Methodist Church on August 9 and see those wonderful cars we remember from our youth as well as some of the cars of today. The car show will be from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. on the church grounds with free admission.
