Preparations are under way for CNY Arts Center’s first Recording Artist Showcase set for 5 p.m. July 5 at Bullhead Point on Lake Neatahawanta. Along with Gina Holsopple and Canvas Moon Band, Christopher Battles will take the stage in this celebration of local musicians.
Time to order fresh, locally-grown blueberries and pick up a blueberry pie, cake or sundae at the Schroeppel Historical Society Blueberry Fest from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. on July 19.
The Migrant Education Tutorial and Support Services Program at Oswego County BOCES recently held its annual graduation and recognition ceremony. Each of the three graduating seniors from the program received a scholarship award on behalf of the Weston T. Hyde Foundation, which was presented by former Fulton City School District Superintendent Michael Egan.

After 40 weeks of classroom training and hands-on learning, 26 Oswego County BOCES Practical Nursing program students earned their diplomas Thursday and are preparing to embark on medical careers in the near future. The nearly 1,200-hour adult education course prepares students to work as a practical nurse in such places as home care agencies, nursing homes, physicians’ offices, hospitals and health care clinics.

Samantha Familo has been named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2014 semester at SUNY Cortland. Familo, a graduate of Hannibal High School, is majoring in Athletic Training.
Students in fourth grade at Michael A. Maroun Elementary attended a special send off on June 25. The “seniors of the school” were recognized for being outstanding leaders and were treated to a pizza party and live DJ.
The Hannibal Summer Rec Program consists of two parts. The first part is a free lunch service for all children under the age of 18 offered from OCO Nutrition Services. The second part is a recreation program conducted by two AmeriCorps members, Kayleigh Troia and Amanda Sprague.
