The Oswego County Legislature’s Human Services Committee presented Sandra Canfield with a certificate of appreciation for her 30 years of service. Canfield is a caseworker with the Oswego County Department of Social Services.
Sponsors and producing organizations gathered recently to promote the Great Rope Play. It will be presented one performance only on August 2 at 6 p.m. on the Fort Ontario Parade Grounds. Audiences are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
The Oswego County Legislature’s Human Services Committee presented a proclamation to Oswego ARISE which decrees July 26 as Americans with Disabilities Awareness Day.
The band will play songs from Lion King; Londonderry Air, arranged by Ed Lisk; Seventy-six Trombones, from The Music Man; and a salute to Louis Armstrong. The chorus, accompanied by Susan Maxwell, will present Songs of the Sea, including sea chanteys, Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid, The Boatman Stomp, a Scottish lullaby, and a medley of other sea tales.
Oswego County Opportunities’ Health Education and Options programs invite Oswego County youth to attend a fun, interactive, and informative series of workshops on positive decision making, sexual health, and becoming leaders in their communities.
Oswego Hospital welcomes General Surgeon Jai Singh, MD, to its active medical staff. Dr. Singh is providing general surgery services in Oswego Hospital’s seven-suite surgery center and is seeing patients, along with Allison Duggan, MD at General Surgery Associates located at 90 W. Utica St.
Fulton Community Theatre will hold open auditions for its November production of Neil Simon’s classic comedy “Last of the Red Hot Lovers,” to be performed as a dinner theatre event at Tavern on the Lock Restaurant in downtown Fulton. Auditions will be held on July 27 and 28 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 309 Buffalo St.

The Oswego Fire Department announces the retirement of Firefighter Michael D. Cook. Firefighter Cook was an active participant in all roles of a firefighter and a member of several Oswego Fire Department specialty teams including the dive team, rapid intervention team, hazardous materials response team, as well as the cause and origin team.
A free Vacation Bible School will be held at the United Baptist Church of Scriba, 5111 State Route 104 East, from August 11 – 15. The hours will be from 6 – 8:30 p.m.
