Thirty-eight National Honor Society students at JCB took part in a community cleanup project on April 27. The student volunteers broke out into small groups and picked up trash from mapped out areas in the village of Phoenix.
There is still time to register for Oswego Hospital’s MASH Camp, as the deadline has been extended to May 30. This year’s MASH Camp (Medical Academy of Science and Health) at Oswego Hospital will be held July 30 and 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
Jason Noyes has once again honored ARISE and will serve as the motorcycle ride coordinator for the 2014 Ride for Ramps event on May 31. Jason has played this role since creating the event to help raise money for the Oswego County Ramp Program.
Students earning Gold Star distinction have a quarterly grade point average of 90 or higher with no incompletes or failing grades. Students earning Silver Star distinction have a quarterly grade point average of 85 to 89.99 with no incompletes or failing grades.
“Together we can beat diabetes!” Those are the words that Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District physical therapist Daniel Pone said as he high-fived each first grade student in the district’s elementary school during a celebration to honor the students for their participation in a fundraiser for the American Diabetes Association.
Herkimer County Community College announces candidates for the College’s 46th annual commencement to be held May 16 at 5 p.m. in the gymnasium of the Physical Education Building. There are 656 candidates for the associate degree and 40 candidates for certificates.
At a recent Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Linda Rossiter introduced Donna DuBois-Taylor, a Registered Nurse and a Licensed Massage Therapist. Donna works for the Oswego County Health Department as an R.N. and in her business as a Massage Therapist in Fulton.
The Oswego Middle School National Junior Honor Society conducted its annual induction ceremony on May 4 as a dozen students signed the membership book and took the oath. The newest inductees were honored at ceremonies in the Oswego High School Robinson-Faust Theatre for the Performing Arts.
