Oswego Speedway is proud to join the Oswego Bicycle Rodeo presented by the Oswego County Traffic Safety Board, to be held on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the East Fire Station in Oswego. The Oswego Bicycle Rodeo is a safety initiative emphasizing the use of helmets, while teaching kids how to stay safe on their bikes.

Newly crowned Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super feature winner Mike Bruce will be appearing at the third annual River’s Edge Craft Show on Sunday with his Woodchuck Saloon/Bruce Electric No. 22 racing machine. The Oswego Lions Club will host the event along the beautiful river’s edge in West Linear Park in Oswego from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

SUNY New Paltz proudly congratulates the following local residents for being named to the spring 2014 Dean’s List:

Kingsford Park Elementary School held its second annual triathlon on May 31. Fifty-two children participated in the event which included swimming, biking and running. The triathlon was held at Oswego Middle School. Medals were awarded to the top 3 finishers in each grade/gender category.

The city of Oswego will host its first free bike safety event co-sponsored by the Oswego City Police Department and Oswego City Fire Department on June 6. It will take place at the East Side Fire Station from 5 to 8 p.m., rain or shine.

The 3 p.m. program will begin with a tribute to the music of Stephen Foster, known as the “father of American music.” His folk songs are still well known today almost 150 years after his death.

On June 14, at 11 a.m., a stone marker will be placed on the grave of Moses Holden. Descendants of Moses and Sarah (Dunton) Holden and anyone interested in Fulton and Oswego County history are invited to attend the brief ceremony.

Pulaski Public Library’s annual book sale will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on July 24; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 25; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 26. It will be held at the Snow Memorial Building Auditorium, 4917 N. Jefferson St.
