Oswego County families, educators and service providers will meet to explore how to better understand how to work effectively with children’s challenging behavior using collaborative problem solving at 6 p.m. June 11 in the New Haven Elementary School library. The training is free through a grant funded by Family Support Services in the state Office of People with Developmental Disabilities.
The Fulton City School District will be holding an open registration night for the district’s Universal Pre-Kindergarten program on June 5. The event will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Fulton Education Center, 167 S.Fourth St., and will feature a free performance by the Twin Magicians.
The New York State School Music Association recently evaluated the Hannibal High School Concert Band with a gold rating. Hannibal students performed at the Major Organization Evaluation Festival held in the Fulton School District.
The Hannibal High School chorus performed their last concert of the year on May 20. The theme of the night was endings and beginnings.
Hannibal High School seniors Elyssa Terry-DeRycke and Gabrielle Griffin have been named the Class of 2014 valedictorian and salutatorian.
Now in its tenth year, the 2014 edition of St. Luke’s “Bundle of Bucks” Charity Raffle event promises to be the best yet. Great prize giveaways, fun, food and fantastic live music by The Cortini Brothers featuring Anna-Marie White are all part of the excitement; including a drawing for 15 cash prizes totaling $25,000 with a top prize of $10,000 to a lucky winner.
The Oswego County Health Department will hold a rabies clinic for cats, dogs, and pet ferrets from 6 to 8 p.m. June 4, at the West Monroe Town Highway Garage, 46 County Route 11. The health department suggests a $5 donation per animal to help cover the cost of the rabies clinics, but no one will be turned away.
The Buc Parent League will be hosting a chicken BBQ fundraiser on June 1 from noon until 5 p.m. at Lighthouse Lanes. Chicken dinners, including homemade desserts will be available for a $9 donation. Tickets to the event can be obtained from any Buc parent, or at the door.
Oswego native Owen Benjamin is renewed for a third season of “Sullivan and Son,” opening on June 24 at 10 p.m. on Turner Broadcasting System.
Friends of the Oswego Public Library is pleased to announce that Pathfinder Bank has joined the Friends as a Gold Member. The Friends recently expanded their membership to include businesses and welcomes Pathfinder Bank, one of the first businesses to join.
