SUNY Potsdam Student Cooper Completes Internship

The Pulaski Middle/Senior High School presented a special Jazz/Pops Concert recently at the school. The chorus began the evening’s concert with pop songs chosen by the students.
Students, chaperones and advisors from Sandy Creek’s International Club traveled to beautiful Puerto Rico over spring break, along with chaperones and advisor Karen Miller. The group arrived in the capital city of San Juan, on April 12 and began their Puerto Rican adventure.
Fairgrieve Elementary School recognized students during a special morning express ceremony for modeling the district’s behavioral expectations for the month of April. The Fulton City School District’s Behavioral Expectations are: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe and Be A Problem Solver.
The Child Care & Development Council of Oswego recently recognized area child care providers for their dedication to early care and learning for the children in our communities at a recognition gathering held earlier this week.
The parents and students of The Buc Jr/Sr High School will welcome the public to their Maple Syrup Open House on May 14 from 6 to 7 p.m. The event will provide the public an opportunity to tour the school.
The Friends of the Oswego Library will hold a benefit on May 20. It will be held at The Lake Ontario Conference Center at Alexandria’s. Bar opens a 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. The movie is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
Traditionally the first Sunday afternoon in May means that it is time for the Oswego High School National Honor Society Owl’s head Chapter induction ceremony. As families, friends and faculty, along with some members of the Board of Education, gathered at the Robinson-Faust Theatre for the Performing Arts, nearly 33 Oswego High School students were inducted.
They read to Minetto School students and their parents recently, to help launch the Minetto School’s annual “People As Reading Partners” Program. This program runs for a three-week period with students reading with a partner at home for 15 minutes per day, 5 days per week.
Nine area Girl Scouts were among the 31 council-wide that earned the Girl Scout Gold Award this year, the highest award a Girl Scout can earn. The girls were recognized at a Young Women of Distinction reception on Saturday for their accomplishment.
