Oswego Health is celebrating its fifth anniversary of introducing urgent care services to the Fulton community. The Oswego Health facility, now known as the Fulton Medical Center, has provided urgent care services to more than 116,000 individuals since its opening in late April 2009.
In an effort to encourage a love of reading in our youth the Oswego County Youth Bureau and the Fulton Rotary clubs are hosting a Children’s Book Drive in support of the Literacy Coalition of Oswego County. They are currently collecting donations of new and gently used books with titles of interest to toddlers through teens.
The Oswego County Autism Task Force is in full swing with activities to promote autism awareness this month. It is the mission of the Task Force to provide information and engage in social activities that relate to enhancing the lives of those touched by Autism Spectrum Disorder in our community.
The Oswego Public Library has joined the efforts of the Oswego Center for Sustainability to generate collaborative community projects that focus on local, reusable resources, self-reliance and community initiative. Together these organizations have established the Oswego Seed Library.
University Police at SUNY Oswego charged Marie Demby, 22, with fourth-degree grand larceny Wednesday evening. A student at SUNY Oswego, Demby is accused of stealing a Macintosh laptop computer from another student at 5:45 p.m. April 14 in the college’s Penfield Library.
Support for the annual St. Luke “Bundle of Bucks” Charity Raffle keeps growing, thanks to Ontario Orchards! Ontario Orchards donated a valuable gift certificate, one of the many fabulous prizes to be given away at the “Bundle of Bucks” Charity Raffle drawing event on May 31.
The combined Oswego High School and Oswego Catholic High School Class of 1974 will be holding their 40th reunion this summer. July 18 – Kick off the reunion with an informal get-together at Old City Hall at 7 p.m.

Metropolitan Opera bass-baritone Philip Cokorinos, a 1979 alumnus of SUNY Oswego, will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. April 30, in the college’s Sheldon Hall ballroom as the season finale of the Ke-Nekt Chamber Music Series.
