Did you know you could help others in your community just by shopping?  Oswego County Opportunities, a non-profit agency that offers 50 programs and serves hundreds of families and individuals throughout Oswego County, has teamed with Amazon.com’s AmazonSmile program that will allow you to do just that.

The following students from the Oswego County (and CNY) area have made the Fall 2013 Dean’s List and Dean’s High Honors List at Utica College in Utica.

The Oswego County Comets Motorcycle Riding Club recently held its annual area-wide Food Drive; collecting donations of non-perishable food items to help the food pantry at Mexico’s First Presbyterian Church meet the needs of all those in the community seeking assistance.

Since New York State’s adoption of the Common Core Learning Standards in 2011 the APW educational community has spent countless hours preparing for the implementation of an educational reform that aims to make 21st century students more globally competitive and ready for college and a career.

Fulton Rotarains work hard to earn money so that they can give it to help many activities in the community. Club Treasurer, Ken Patrick, presented a check to R.J. DeLisle from Fulton Youth Hockey organization.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County is pleased to announce an upcoming workshop called “Improving Your Farm’s Web Presence” which will help attendees connect with current and potential customers online. Registrations are due by January 31.

The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society coordinated a community service project that generated more than a half-ton of shelf-stable food donations for local food pantries in the school district’s communities. Donations were collected by homeroom and the homerooms with the most donations, in net weight, were treated to a donut party.

Eighteen Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Junior High School students have been selected to participate in the Oswego County Music Educators’ Association All-County Chorus Festival on April 4 and 5.
