The Friends of Oswego County Hospice are hosting its third annual “Lights of Remembrance” memorial tree lighting on December 5, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Oswego County Federal Credit Union on Scenic Avenue in Mexico. The tree lighting will take place at 5:30 p.m.

Supporters of the United Way of Greater Oswego County filled St. Joseph’s Parish Center in Oswego as the community came together to enjoy a delicious meal of soup, salad, rolls and dessert at United Way’s “Stone Soup” Luncheon. Rev. There will be a benefit December 7 from 1-6 p.m. at VFW Post 8823, Hastings/Parish for Wayne Derby. The 48-year-old friend, family and neighbor needs life-saving surgery.
The money will be used for a program that will align tobacco cessation resources and services for pregnant women and mothers of young children by working collaboratively with the Oswego County Health Department, primary care and ob-gyn providers and Oswego County Opportunities.
