DSS Event Benefits United Way

Staff and friends of the Oswego County Department of Social Services gathered to show their support for one of Oswego County’s most vital agencies, United Way, as they participated in the third Annual DSS Hospitality Gathering and United Way Bowling Fundraiser. Held recently at Lakeview Lanes, the DSS employee bowl-a-thon raised more than $750 in support of United Way.

Seth DeLisle, son of Kathy and R.J. DeLisle, Mark Pollock, son of Mark and MaryBeth Pollock and Matt Nelson, son of Tammy and Doug Feeney and Kirk and Ginger Nelson have been named  2013 Brine National High School All-Americans and have been selected to represent the Syracuse region at the 2013 Brine National Lacrosse Classic.

Ritchie Secures $50,000 Grant For School Resource Officer in Central Square District

State Senator Patty Ritchie announced Monday she has secured a special, $50,000 grant to provide a school resource officer for the Central Square School District. School Resource Officers, commonly known as SROs, are law enforcement officials, stationed at schools and tasked with improving safety and security.
