Some of the most famous and influential people in United States history gathered in one place last week, Lanigan Elementary School in the Fulton City School District. The gathering was a “Biography Bonanza,” featuring students in the school’s second grade classes.
The Fulton Idol – “A Star-Making Experience” will be held August 5 – 9 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the First United Church of Fulton, 33 S. The Oswego City School District will be participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be offered at Fitzhugh Park Elementary, Oswego High School, and through the YMCA and will be provided to all children 18 years and under without charge.

The Oswego Players spent last summer and fall fundraising for its 75th season of continuous operation as a local community theatre (1938-2013), in order to present local audiences with a great selection of on-stage entertainment. On August 23, we are officially celebrating with a dinner at the American Foundry, and we would like you, our faithful supporters over the years, to join us. The solar paintings of Oswego artist Bert Leighton will shine in a free exhibition July 12 to Sept. 14 at Oswego State Downtown. An opening artist’s reception will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. July 12, at the SUNY Oswego store and gallery at the corner of West First and Bridge streets.
The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program, a division of SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations, has initiated walking clubs throughout Oswego County. The Oswego Community Walking Club began June 19 and will continue on Wednesdays at 9 a.m. before expanding to other days and times.
With a year of fundraising and grant writing for camp sponsorships successfully accomplished, CNY Arts Center is ready to launch the second annual Arty Day Camp with summer art fun, July 15-19 and August 19-23, for ages 5-15 at CNY Arts Center, 357 State St.

In honor of Father’s Day, Granby Elementary School hosted a special ice cream social for dads and daughters.
