Each month the Fulton Noon Rotary Club invites two Fulton High School seniors to lunch. Rotarian Judy Young introduced Katelyn Caza and Alexis Pawlewicz at a recent meeting. The students are presented a certificate acknowledging their hard work during their four years in high school.
When deciding what they wanted to do to earn their Girl Scout Bronze Award, Kaitlyn Czerow, Clare Hook, Cecile Laundre, Julia Roman, Katie Fierro, and Cadie Lily from Girl Scout Junior Troop 10461, decided they wanted to do something for sick children. So on June 2 from 1-3 p.m. the girls are holding an event at the St. Joseph’s Church on West First Street in Oswego to benefit the Golisano Children’s Hospital.
The fight against child abuse has been undertaken throughout the Oswego City School District. Currently a fundraiser to benefit the Child Advocacy Center and Prevent Child Abuse NY is being conducted at every school. Students and staff can purchase pinwheels to created a pinwheel garden to serve as a symbol for child abuse prevention.

The Fulton Tennis Lesson League is now open for registration. Participants will be taught how to play tennis and then given the opportunity to apply what they have learned in a match situation. Tennis strokes and strategies will be taught and then players of similar abilities will be matched up for supervised match play.
The Oneida Lake Emergency Response Task Force will conduct a training exercise On Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon. The drill takes place near Frenchman’s Island on Oneida Lake. If you are in the area of Oneida Shores or Frenchman’s Island, please be aware of increased traffic and restricted areas for exercise participants only.
With Arts Fest just a few weeks away on June 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., CNY Arts Center announces the festival entertainment line-up with local musician Tom Eagan and, new group on the music scene – Lois Dixon and the Olives.
In the upcoming weeks, the Oswego Police Department will be participating in the state-
wide campaign to aggressively enforce the Seatbelt laws in an effort to gain compliance. The effort, which will run until June 2, will be particularly focused locally around and
throughout the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.
Heather Coppola, a resident of Oswego was named a member of the university’s chapter of Phi Alpha Honor Society in spring 2013. She is a Social Work major at Alvernia.
Employees of Excellus BlueCross BlueShield volunteered their time to help the Nutrition Collaboration of Oswego County, build additional garden beds for the Fulton Community Garden Project. Located at John Lincoln Park, the Fulton Community Garden Project offers city residents the opportunity to have their own garden bed to grow vegetables, herbs, or flowers.
