Girl Scout Troop Holds Bronze Award Project to Benefit Children’s Hospital

When deciding what they wanted to do to earn their Girl Scout Bronze Award, Kaitlyn Czerow, Clare Hook, Cecile Laundre, Julia Roman, Katie Fierro, and Cadie Lily from Girl Scout Junior Troop 10461, decided they wanted to do something for sick children. So on June 2 from 1-3 p.m. the girls are holding an event at the St. Joseph’s Church on West First Street in Oswego to benefit the Golisano Children’s Hospital.

Pinwheels to fight Child Abuse Project Under Way

The fight against child abuse has been undertaken throughout the Oswego City School District. Currently a fundraiser to benefit the Child Advocacy Center and Prevent Child Abuse NY is being conducted at every school. Students and staff can purchase pinwheels to created a pinwheel garden to serve as a symbol for child abuse prevention.

Excellus BlueCross BlueShield Employees Help Expand Fulton Community Garden Project

Employees of Excellus BlueCross BlueShield volunteered their time to help the Nutrition Collaboration of Oswego County, build additional garden beds for the Fulton Community Garden Project. Located at John Lincoln Park, the Fulton Community Garden Project offers city residents the opportunity to have their own garden bed to grow vegetables, herbs, or flowers.
