I have returned to work after five long months of healing and rehabilitating. I am thrilled to be able to visit with my senior friends and co-workers at OCO once again. On March 20 the Parish Dining and Activity Center, 814 Rider St. will be open and serving lunch for the annual “Mayor For Meals” day.

Role model students at Lanigan Elementary School were recently recognized during a school-wide character education assembly for demonstrating the February character trait of the month, honesty.

Homelessness reaches beyond the images of panhandlers on big-city streets, or living in cardboard boxes. It’s affecting families, teens and young adults, and individuals in all of our communities.

Through the purchase of ‘shade grown’ Bird Friendly sustainable farms, migratory birds can locate rainforests where coffee is grown under a forest canopy. If in addition, Synthetic fertilizers aren’t used, parents and chicks will increase in populations in the future.

The Minetto United Methodist Church will host a free dinner on March 24. Serving will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
