SUNY Oswego trainer Sue Conklin will teach women how to rest and relax, regardless of the season, in a program Dec. 14, at the SUNY Oswego Phoenix Center. The mini-retreat, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., will begin with a focused discussion about stress and its relationship to physical and emotional well-being.

St. Nicholas (Jacen Hallinan), bishop of Myra, patron saint of children, sailors, innocents and those in need, visited Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Oswego on December 2 to gather donations of food and money for the Human Concerns Center.

Members of the sharing and caring breast cancer support group will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. December 18 in the community room of Oswego Health’s Fulton Medical Center.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, a division of SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations, will hold a volunteer orientation for retired or semi-retired adults Dec. 12. The 2 p.m. session will take place in the Oswego Salvation Army’s community room, 73 W. Second St.

Fulton Community Theatre presented Catholic Charities of Oswego County with a donation for the agency’s food pantry. Fulton Community Theatre collected the food during its recent production of “Pop’s Old-Fashioned Christmas Carol.”

Helping in this seasonal celebration are the seventh and eighth grade students at the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Junior/Senior High School who recently showcased their musical talents at a holiday concert.

“This annual event allows an opportunity for our residents to invite family and friends and the public to a special holiday gathering where everyone can meet, mingle, enjoy great music and delicious foods, in a festive atmosphere,” explained Senior Living Coordinator, Julie Chetney.
